Did you see pigs flying this weekend?

I am a LOUISVILLE fan.  That's where I went to school and I am diehard Cards til the day I die.  That being said, I had the opportunity for 4 tickets to the UK game this weekend.  Four good 50-yard line tickets.  My best friend and her family are huge UK fans and I was planning to spend the weekend with them anyway so when this opportunity popped up I decided to offer this option to them.  We all decided it would be a fun way to spend the weekend!

Saturday morning we trekked to Lexington to tailgate & attend the game.  Suzanne's mom packed so much good food and we were able to just hang out and relax until the game started.  The first half of the game was pretty exciting but Florida seemed to run away with it in the second half.  I am not a UK "fan" but I like to see teams in our Commonwealth do well, that is unless they are playing UL and then I want to destroy them.  Part of the bargain in going to the game was that I had to promise to dress appropriately in blue.  I have ONE dress in my closet that could fit this occasion (thank goodness) and wore it to show some support.  Oh and the necklace I wore is coral NOT Florida orange. I really wish UK had pulled off the victory.  It would be great to see history being made (they haven't beat Florida since 1986) and it doesn't hurt Louisville's strength of schedule ; )  Below are some pictures from our fun day!

Weekend Recap

I spent Thursday & Friday in Cincinnati for work.  I love when I travel there for work because it means I get to see one of my best friends Katlin!  We had a great dinner at Nada and drinks at the 21C Hotel Rooftop Bar.

On Friday, after leaving my conference I headed to Lexington to meet my best friend Suzanne for a girls weekend!  Friday night we went to one of my favorite consignment stores Clothes Mentor.  After shopping we decided to grab dinner at Sal's and then headed downtown to go out.

On Saturday, we had a big day planned starting with massages at Massage Envy.  This place was AMAZING!!  It was so relaxing.  After our massages we had big plans for shopping all day but we ended up spending the day relaxing and just hanging out.  It was so nice to just hang out with my best friend and chat.

Saturday we had dinner at one of our favorite restaurants in Lexington, Bella Notte, and then hung out around a bonfire.

I could post a picture of us smiling but this picture represents our friendship so much better!

Sunday, we traveled back to Henderson so that I could meet Suzanne's niece.  It was such a beautiful day so I decided to take the long way to McLean County.  It was the perfect day for a long drive with the windows down and music up.  I had to convince myself to go home and unpack and do homework.  I could have driven around for hours.

I spent Sunday night roasting marshmallows with my grandparents to cap off the weekend.  I love Fall and it is already starting off great!

Birchbox

Several months ago I ran across an ad for Birchbox.  I love samples and trying new beauty products!  I hate paying full price to try something so Birchbox was right up my alley.  It costs $10 per month and you receive a box with beauty samples from great brands.  The sample sizes are great and if you order anything out of your box that month you get free shipping on it!  Also, if you review the products for them you earn points that can be redeemed for money to spend in their store.  I get so excited when I see my box arrive because it's always full of awesome goodies!  Below are the products I received in my September Birchbox:

Weekend Recap

This weekend was relaxing and fun!  Friday night, my brother and I had dinner with my grandparents and just hung out with them.  It was so nice to just relax and hang out for several hours.  Saturday, I watched my Cards win the Governor's Cup!!  That night, I attended my step-cousin's wedding.  The Hamilton wedding was beautiful and lots of fun!

On Sunday, we went to church and had lunch.  It was such a beautiful day that we ended up going to the bug exhibit at the Western Kentucky Botanical Garden.  The gardens were absolutely beautiful and the bugs were pretty cool too!

I found an Elvis scarecrow :)!!

Went to Target after leaving the garden and found these awesome glasses:

Lady in Red

This past weekend I attended the CYLO Lady in Red event with some friends.  It was so much fun!  We had a good group of Junior League girls there and we all had a blast hanging out and dancing!  Below are a few of my favorite pictures from the night :)

Sharla's Birthday

For Labor Day weekend, I spent the weekend in Nashville for my friend Sharla's birthday.  You can visit her awesome blog here.  Casi (you can visit her blog here) and I headed down a night early to go out in Nashville.  Sundy Best, one of my favorite bands, was having their CD release party at the Wildhorse Saloon so we decided to go check it out.  Their show was amazing as usual!   If you haven't heard of them check them out, you won't regret it.   I would recommend starting with these three songs:

All of their music is amazing!!

We had such a fun night out!

Sundy Best :)

Ahh look who we got to meet!! I was one happy girl!

The next day we rented a boat on Percy Priest Lake to celebrate Sharla's birthday.  We had so much fun!

Before we left Nashville on Monday, we decided to try Firefly.  That place is amazing!!!  I will definitely be eating there again.

It was a great weekend and I was so happy to be able to help Sharla celebrate!  When she left Nashville, she was New York bound which I'm sure you'll be able to read about on her blog soon.
