Bathroom Drawer Organization

Not the most exciting post, I know!  But, if you're like me you live a never ending battle of trying to keep all your makeup, beauty products, etc in some form of organization!  I swear I organize my drawers constantly and then I get hit with a busy couple of days and it looks like a mess!!  We are working on each room of our house a little at a time and the other day I decided to do a little work on getting the bathroom organized.  I found these awesome bins at Target (see my original post about them here) and they are the PERFECT size for bathroom drawers!!!

I still have some work to do in the rest of the bathroom but these two drawers are looking SO much better!  These bins are super cheap and we've used them in a few other drawers in the house to keep stuff organized.  They are easy to clean and look great for the price!

Do yourself a favor, pick up a couple on your weekly trip to Target this weekend (I say this because I refuse to believe that we are the only people who somehow end up at Target E.V.E.R.Y. week without fail! #targetaholics)!

Oh and tonight is supposed to be super chilly so it's the perfect night to make a pot of my yummy chicken noodle soup!

Find the recipe here!

Our Wedding: Flowers

We chose Cheryl from The Yellow House Florist in Calhoun, KY to do our wedding flowers and could not have been more pleased!  Darlene and I met with her before the wedding to pick out the flowers and plan the arrangements (previously discussed with J :)  When I said I wanted his opinion on everything wedding related, I meant everything!).  They ended up being what we had envisioned and more!

Bridal bouquet

One very happy bride!

I loved how the bridesmaids bouquets complimented mine.

I had a very simple vision in mind for our flowers.  I wanted classic & sophisticated to fit our location!  We did my bridal bouquet of white roses & hydrangeas, simple bouquets of roses for the bridesmaids and then I only had my dad and Jared wear a boutonniere of a single white rose.  I think our flowers perfectly complemented the simplicity of our colors and bridal party attire.

Thanks to The Yellow House for the most perfect wedding flowers!

Creamy Italian Chicken Crockpot Freezer Meal

Creamy Italian Chicken is one of my favorite crockpot freezer meals!
To make, combine the following in a gallon freezer bag:

2 large chicken breasts
8 oz. cream cheese
1 dry packet of Italian seasoning
1 can cream of chicken

Put the bag in the refrigerator the night before you want to make the meal to thaw it.  Place the contents of the bag in the crockpot and cook on high for 4-6 hours.

Tastes delicious served over rice & is super yummy on a cold night!  I absolutely love the sauce on this chicken.

Our Wedding: Cake

We really wanted to have a super yummy & beautiful cake for our wedding!  We decided to use Alisha of Dalisha's Desserts and are so thankful we did!  We were able to do a cake tasting before to decide on flavors and Alisha was great about really working with us to get the perfect design for our cakes!

Instead of going with the traditional white cake for our wedding cake we chose strawberry & chocolate.  We used vanilla in our grooms cake.  All were delicious and I wish I had a piece right now!
Simple, classic and exactly what we wanted!

Love the simple little details.

Special wedding day touches are the best :)

Jared's grooms cake turned out so perfectly!

We wouldn't change a thing about our wedding cakes & we absolutely loved them!  I highly recommend Dalisha's Desserts to anyone getting married or in need of a cake for any occasion.

Monday Must Haves

A few of my favorite things right now that make Mondays just a little easier:
1. Thinking Out Loud - Ed Sheeran.
This song.  Love it!  So romantic & beautiful.  Mondays are hard and good music makes them so much better!

2. Erin Condren Life Planner

See my post on my love for my planner here.  So thankful to have it to keep me organized!

3. Sharpie Pens

Obsessed. These pens are perfection! (P.S. J got me these at Sam's Club and they were so much cheaper than buying them elsewhere. Isn't he wonderful for indulging my office supplies addiction?!)

4. My Clarisonic Mia

In this dreary weather, skin care is extra important to me.  I love my Clarisonic!  Read my review on mine here!

5. Tazo Green Tea

It took me a while to try green tea, but once I finally did I was hooked! My favorite is Tazo (I buy it at Kroger)! Its a nice alternative when I get tired of water and keeps me from grabbing a coke (most of the time ; ) ). When I drink a glass every day I just feel better! I'm definitely a believer in the health benefits of green tea!

Nacho Chicken Crockpot Freezer Meal

Nacho chicken is probably one of our top crockpot meals that we love to make! It doesn't get any easier & tastes delicious!

To make the freezer meal, in a gallon ziploc bag combine:

2 large chicken breasts
1 packet taco seasoning
1 can rotel

The night before you want to make it, put the bag in the refrigerator to defrost and in the morning put the contents in the crock pot on high for 6 hours. About an hour before its done, I take a fork and shred the chicken.

You can serve this dish in two yummy ways!

Jared makes a taco salad out of his

And I make a chicken burrito out of mine! We make Lipton Spanish rice to go with it too!

This recipes makes a large serving so you'll definitely have yummy leftovers you could use for lunch the next day!

Wedding Photographer: Rachael Houser Photography

I was always told that when we got married I needed to pick a few main things that were the most important and really get what we wanted and then try to cut back or save on things that weren't as important to us.  Pictures were very high up if not #1 on our list.  I love photos and had a very specific image of the type of photographer I wanted!  After we set our date, we did tons of research on photographers in our region but something just clicked talking to one of them.  That fabulous photographer was Rachael Houser of Rachael Houser Photography in Paducah, KY.

We chose Rachael to be our engagement & wedding photographer and honestly this may have been one of the top decisions we made in the whole process!  I can not say enough good things about Rachael.  She is very knowledgeable and capable in photography and also provides help in planning out the day.  She captured our exact vision for our pictures and we honestly are struggling to pick out which ones to display in our home because if we could we would display them all!!

She had the best advice for how to keep our day running smoothly and on the day of she kept things right on time but never once did we feel rushed.

Below are the links to her blogs of our engagement & wedding pictures.  I plan to use Rachael for all of our special moments in years to come!  Not only are her pictures beautiful, but she truly captures the real feeling and emotion in them.  I will forever cherish the beautiful images she has provided us with of the best day of our lives.  If you need a photographer, please check her out.  She is amazing, very easy to work with, and worth every penny!

I will be sharing more wedding images as I blog about the different parts of our wedding but feel free to check out our engagement & wedding sneak peeks below!

Jared's Birthday & Valentine's Day!

My husband's birthday is Valentine's Day so that makes for a very special weekend for us!  Celebrating my favorite guy & love?  Perfect.

Friday
To kick off the weekend, my amazing husband treated me to one of my favorite meals, chocolate covered strawberries & took me to see a movie (another post on that to come soon) and I finally got to give Jared his presents: a poker set, lots of car cleaning stuff & some of his favorite snacks!

Saturday

On Saturday (J's actual birthday) we took a road trip to Waverly to check out some trailers

Went to Evansville to have lunch at one of his favorite places & went shopping!

For office stuff of course! We're almost done with another room in our home : ) (J's birthday gift from his parents was something for the office---pics to come in another post)

Seriously the most perfect day with my favorite guy!

60 Beautiful Years

December marked 60 years of marriage for my maternal grandparents. We decided to celebrate with a surprise party! It was such a fun and special day celebrating these two very special people.

Surprise!

Such an adorable couple...60 years ago and today!

Really cute sign that Dylan's girlfriend Lauren made!

So thankful for my amazing husband who was able to take off for a few hours to come help me set up & celebrate with us!  I am really so lucky that he's always willing to jump in and help me with anything!

These two have taught me more about life, family & love than I can put into words.

Love these two!  Sadly, J had to go back to work before we were able to get this picture.

These two were such a big help!

Growing up with these two as role models has been such a wonderful blessing and we are so thankful for their love, patience and support.  They are a wonderful example of a lifetime commitment to love and serve as a great inspiration.  My grandparents are some of my best friends and any day that celebrates them is a great day!  So thankful for everyone who helped and came to celebrate with us!

Our Wedding: Video

Without a doubt when we started planning our wedding we knew we wanted it on film!  We knew we'd be very caught up in the excitement of the day and wanted to have it preserved forever so we could go back and see so many special moments.  We chose David Kirk and his wife Jessica as our videographers and we could not have been more pleased!  Not only was our video amazing, they gave us great advice leading up to the big day.  They were also such a calming presence for us and so helpful on our wedding day!.  If you need someone to video your big day I greatly recommend them.  Below is our short wedding video, we have thoroughly enjoyed having both this sneak peek and the full length video!

Chicken & Broccoli Alfredo Freezer Meal

One day soon I will post my homemade Alfredo sauce recipe but it is a little more time consuming than I prefer for a busy night. So when making our freezer meals, we found a much quicker version to use!

Ingredients
2 large chicken breasts cut into strips
2 jars of your favorite alfredo sauce (we use Bertolli)
1 bag frozen broccoli
Garlic powder

To make, combine strips of chicken and two jars of Alfredo sauce in a gallon Ziploc freezer bag and freeze. The night before put the bag in your refrigerator to thaw. Put the contents of the bag in your crockpot in the morning and add garlic powder to your preference. Cook on low 4-6 hours. About an hour before its done, add the bag of broccoli. Serve with your pasta of choice!

This recipe could not be easier and requires hardly any work and that's why I love it! You can make this meal without turning it into a freezer meal but I love that doing it this way makes dinner call for little to no effort on the night you make it. Plus cooking the ingredients together all day gives it a better taste!  Perfect for snowy days like today!
