Friday Favorites

Happy Friday!

I am SO happy to see this weekend arrive!  It has just been the longest week.  I'm really looking forward to a relaxing weekend full of quality time with my husband!

Valentine's Gift Ideas for Him

and for Her!

See my post here about the 5 most useful tips I'm implementing in our home from this book on organization!

This week in the What's Up Wednesday link up, one of my absolute favorite bloggers posted that she and her family had tried one of my crockpot meals!  I'm not going to lie I may have gotten super pumped and giggled when I saw it :)  Thanks, Erika!

Another favorite of mine right now is pinning Valentine's Day stuff on Pinterest!  So many great recipes, crafts, décor, etc!

I've posted that I've already started Christmas shopping for next year and I'm going to help you all do that as well.  I'm going to try to share some of my favorite deals as I find them on stuff for you all year long & items you can buy for a bargain to have for holidays & birthdays this year!!  Keep an eye out for this graphic on posts this year for can't miss items :)

Here are some of my favorites right now:

All of these items are either on major sale or almost crazy cheap to begin with! You all know how much I love my Lush perfect tunics (I blog about them all the time).  They really are the best and the length is ideal for leggings or skinny jeans!  The Kate Spade earrings are on a pretty good deal but that initial necklace is normally close to $70!!!  This is a great item you can grab for yourself or to save for a gift this year!  I own the BP pendant necklace and adore it!  BP studs are in my ears pretty much every day :)  I own them in topaz, pale pink, hot pink, crystal and black and I can't wait to see what colors I can add to my collection this year :)  For the price, they are surprisingly great quality!  Love that scarf to have to throw on or for a gift.  If you want to have a gold watch to throw on, this one is a great price and perfect if you like the trend of gold but aren't sure you want to commit to purchasing a more expensive watch.  I own the striped top in 2 colors and LOVE it.  Go buy one right now!  I also own the chevron necklace and have given it as a gift as well!  It's perfect for when you just need a little touch to add to a casual outfit!  All of these items would be perfect to buy for yourself but are also great gift ideas!

Answered prayers!

God is so good all the time.  One of our family members had to go to the hospital this week and I am so thankful that the doctors were able to find out what was wrong and surgically fix it!  When things like this happen, it is so scary.  I am so thankful for God's hand in guiding us through those situations.  It is easy to forget to pray and thank him when things are going right instead of just when it's an emergency.  Let's all remember to call on him when we need him, which is everyday when things are good or bad!

I am so excited for the rest of 2016!  We have so many exciting things planned for our year, personal and business wise, and I can't wait to see what happens with you all in 2016 as well!

Have a wonderful weekend :)

What's Up Wednesday

1. What We're Eating This Week...

My hubby has been sick so it's been all about keeping it simple at our house this week!  We've had spaghetti, shake & bake, etc but have great dinners planned for this weekend we can both enjoy when he feels better :)

If it wasn't an under the weather week at our house, I would be making:

My Beefy Cheesy Tortellini!  So easy & delicious.

My Chicken Enchiladas!  So easy & pretty healthy too :)

Or Mix & Match Mama's Baked Queso Tacos!  These are super popular in our house!

2. What I'm Reminiscing About...

Valentine's Day 2015

3. What I'm Loving...

My mother-in-law put a Wet Brush in my stocking this year and I am in LOVE!  I have a really bad problem with grinding my teeth even when wearing my mouthguard which means I typically get bad headaches in the mornings.  This brush goes right through my hair and doesn't pull at all which is so refreshing!

It's super cold here now so I am definitely loving nights on the couch in my comfy blardigan with a hot chocolate in a mug like this Kate Spade monogrammed one!

4. What We've Been Up To...

We took our annual Christmas trip to the Opryland Hotel in Nashville!

Celebrated the New Year!  See our 2015 Year In Review here!

I'm in the middle of redoing our bathroom!  I ended up going with the blue on the right.  I need to touch up some trim and hang my pictures and then I can't wait to share the after :)

Enjoyed the second snow at our home!
Sledding fun in the country!

5. What I'm Dreading...

I can't really say there's anything I'm dreading right now!  It's a super busy time between work, family, blog, our business, etc but I love it :)

6. What I'm Working On...

Growing this blog!  I would love to have you as a follower on GFC, Bloglovin, & on social media :)

Growing our organic lawn & landscape business!

Finishing our gallery wall!  The after pictures will be up soon :)

8. What I'm Watching/Reading...
My husband and I are Netflix binge obsessed with Blue Bloods right now!  It's SO good!
I'm loving The Bachelor this season!  Quick thoughts: Olivia is
LOVE this show!  I binge watched the first few seasons on Netflix and am now watching it each week.  If you like history, stories about royals, etc you will love it!

9. What I'm Listening To...

Love this song!

Who can get enough Adele?!

I love listening to movies & tv shows while I work as background noise!  I just Melissa & Joey and before that Gossip Girl.  Any recommendations for what I can listen to next?  I prefer something funny or not too deep so I don't have to focus on it!

10. What I'm Wearing...
11. What I'm Doing This Weekend...

We have a date night planned for Saturday which includes dinner at one of our favorite restaurants and I can't wait!

12. What I'm Looking Forward To Next Month...

Bruce!!  Jared and I are going to see Bruce Springsteen in concert again and I can't wait!!

I'm also looking forward to celebrating Valentine's Day which is also my sweet husband's birthday :)

13. What Else Is New...

I think I've covered it all :)

14. What Is Your Favorite Valentine's Day Treat...
I have to avoid these at every grocery and gas station from now until after Valentine's Day!  I LOVE them but try not to indulge.   I may just have to have one though :)

5 Useful Tips From The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up + New Years Resolutions Giveaway

A few months back, I read Marie Kondo's book The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up!  Being an organizational freak, it was perfect for me :)  I love to spend hours organizing drawers & cleaning out closets so I'm always looking for new and useful tips!

Although a few ideas in the book just aren't for me (I'm not talking to my possessions or using shoeboxes for organization), I found a lot of great ideas that I've been putting in to use in our home!

These are the 5 most useful ideas I found:

1. Clean Out Your Closets

If a piece of clothing doesn't excite you to wear it or doesn't make you happy, it goes.  This means if it has tags, used to be an old favorite, sentimental memory etc.  I have completed two closet clean outs and plan to do a third when I switch closets out in the spring.  I was able to get rid of so much and still have so many more clothes than I thought!  I love seeing my closet full of just the clothes that fit & that I love!

2. Roll

Roll your socks and underwear.  I have discovered that by doing this I have so much more space!

3. Continuously Purge

As soon as you realize you don't need or use something, toss it, donate it, get it out of the house. I'm done with the "maybe one day I'll use this..."  It's used or out of the house it goes!
Thoughts and Ideas on living a clutter free life along with questions to ask yourself while decluttering.:

4. Put Everything Away Everyday

I am making a bigger point to put things in their specific place each day (keys in their designated basket, mail opened and put in it's place, living areas picked up etc). Obviously there are days this doesn't happen but when I do this, it makes our home feel so much more organized and put together. This in turn makes me feel more relaxed and put together!

5. Organize Similar Items Simultaneously

When you're organizing/purging a specific category of items like clothes, beauty supplies, etc., pull everything in this category out in one area to go through all at once.  This way you can see everything you have and you have an empty space you can organize what you're keeping in as you go.  I found when doing this that I only kept what fit in the designated space and haven't missed anything that was purged yet!

Nate Berkus Quote at CreatingThisLife.com:

This quote is a perfect way to think about the items you're purchasing to bring into your home!  Don't just buy or bring home useless stuff that doesn't have a specific place to go.  You'll end up with more closets to clean out and never be free of clutter!
