Weekend Recap

Happy Monday!  Can't believe the weekend is already over :( 

Friday, Jared was working so I joined Dad & Darlene for dinner and then hung out with them! I also had a leak in my tire but my super handy & awesome dad was able to plug it for me!

Saturday, Jared and I went on a mini road trip to Henderson & Evansville to do a little bit of shopping, went out to eat & we went to see Ted 2! It was a full but fun day : )

Sunday was a great day! We had a lazy morning and then went to the parade of homes where I found my dream closet! Seriously, isn't this closet amazing?!

 We also went grocery shopping and worked on our yard the first part of the day. Sunday afternoon, we had a kickball game & then spent the rest of the night watching Friday Night Lights with some Wasabi takeout. I'm so sad the weekend is over already but we have a good week ahead to look forward to!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday!!!

We have a full weekend ahead but it's filled with lots of quality time with my husband so I'm ready to get it started :)

1. A definite favorite this week would be all the Father's Day celebrations from last weekend!

2. Another favorite this week would be spending time in MC working on compost & our organic fertilization methods!  We love learning more and more about ways to improve our business. Jared, my dad & my uncle have worked hard on one of our fertilization jobs and I can't wait to see the results!

3.  Another huge favorite this week is my Erin Condren Life Planner!  I don't know how I'd stay organized with all our activities without it!  See my original post about it here.  If you decide to buy one use this link to get $10 off!

4. Lunch dates with my husband!

Jared & I have had several lunch dates together this week and it's so nice.  Life is so busy right now that it's awesome to just get an hour in the middle of the day to eat and hang out.  Love quality time with my husband so much!

5. Jared shared this photo on Twitter yesterday and I decided to share it with you all!  This is from our Sadie Hawkins dance in high school.  9 years ago, CRAZY!  This was the night it all really started for us and it's so cool to have pictures from then to look back on.

Owning It

I came across Christina's blog, The New Mrs, in a wedding post link up and have been an avid follower ever since!  It's fun seeing someone else in the same stage of life as you and how they navigate it!  Christina has started a new link party series on her blog called Owning It and I had to join in on the fun.

 

So today I'm owning some of my crazy...

 

1. I hate staying by myself at night.  During the day, I'm all about time to workout, clean, do my nails etc but when night falls I become convinced I'm going to become the subject of the next 20/20 or Law & Order.  Seriously, it's a problem.  I'm like a jumpy mouse at night! 


2. I am such a grammar freak.  When I hear someone say something that is obviously grammatically incorrect, I am totally correcting them in my head.  This especially drives me crazy when I see the misuse of their, there, and they're on social media.  GRRR!!!


3. I am so OCD about color coding.  My planner is color coded and so is our office calendar.  Okay, our closet is too.  We love it that way!


4. Nothing on social media drives me more crazy than those who are traveling and instead of truly immersing themselves in the experience are constantly updating social media with pictures.  I love sharing & seeing photos but I hate getting distracted from awesome experiences to do so.  I just want to comment "Enjoy your trip!  Stop needing social media to validate you're having a good time!" One or two photos do not bother me.  But photos of every moment constantly posted drive me crazy!  I really felt over the edge when someone I know did this while on their HONEYMOON.  I know, I know.  Not my circus, not my animals, not my problems.  But I have a heart & love for travel so strong that it makes me groan inside when I see people wasting precious moments this way. 


5. You know the Styrofoam that comes in packages to keep them protected?  Keep it away from me.  Seriously.  Hearing the noise that stuff makes coming out of the box or anytime you touch it makes me cringe and want to cry.  It is awful and I'm seriously getting chills just thinking about it right now!!


6. I have probably at least 5 Christmas gifts already purchased and in the closet.  Yes, I know it's June!  Seeing Christmas decorations in the stores already drives me crazy.  However, when I find something on sale that I know the person wants and will still want in December, why wouldn't I buy it?   It makes my life a lot easier come December because I just need to pick up a couple things.  I get to spend the rest of the time doing fun Christmas stuff :)  So my crazy on this one actually pays off! Ha!


7. If my nails start chipping it totally drives me crazy!  So what do I do?!  Start picking off the rest of the polish on all my nails.  I can't stand waiting to get home to take it off so I will pick it all off. 


8. This one goes for both Jared & I.  We cannot listen to a whole song!  We listen to about 30 seconds to a minute and then it's on to the next one.  The only exception to this is if it's a new favorite & even that doesn't last long.


Here's to all of us owning our crazy, it makes us who we are right?!

Weekend Recap

My weekend recap is a little late this week but better late than never! 

Friday we had a pizza night and started the Friday Night Lights TV series.  I have seen the first two seasons but never finished it and Jared hasn't seen it yet so we are excited to binge watch it now :) 

Saturday started off with a long walk with Haley!  Since I sit so much during the week at work, I love getting long walks in on the weekends.

Saturday afternoon, we traveled to The Overlook in Leavenworth, IN to eat with my grandparents for Father's Day & my grandmother's birthday.  Yummy :)

Happy to spend a beautiful day in such a pretty place on the river :) 

3/4 of the Fab 4!  Wish Jared could have been with us :)

Sunday, we started the day with breakfast at Cracker Barrel with my Grandad Charles.  This is him with his offspring :)

After breakfast, we went to church and then we ate lunch with my Dad.  Dyl made us homemade lasagna & it was delish :)

I'm a daddy's girl for sure :)

Glad he liked his gift :)

Rowdy never misses a family photo.  Seriously, it's like she has camera radar and it's so funny!!

After lunch, we headed back to Owensboro and just relaxed for a bit before eating with Jared's family and then ending the night with a grocery store run & some more Friday Night Lights :)

Friday Favorites

4. St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse

Cannot say enough good things about this self-tanner!  I decided to try it after seeing a lot of recommendations for it online and I am in LOVE.  It makes such a big difference in my tan and is worth every penny.  I put it on every third night, let it dry and go to bed, and then when I wake up and shower it turns a golden tan.  Easy as pie! 

5. Polar Loop

You've heard me rave about my Polar Loop on here before but I'm going to do it again because I love it that much!  It's the only fitness tracker I've found that is waterproof and that is a winning feature for me!  It tracks activity, steps, calories, sleep, etc.  I love everything about it so if you're in the market for a fitness tracker, click the link above and check it out!  The price is pretty great too : )
(P.S. I've checked around and Amazon is the cheapest I've found by far & where I ordered mine!)


I can tell a huge difference in my activity level now that I'm wearing a tracker.  It keeps me motivated!
