Our Wedding: Video

Without a doubt when we started planning our wedding we knew we wanted it on film!  We knew we'd be very caught up in the excitement of the day and wanted to have it preserved forever so we could go back and see so many special moments.  We chose David Kirk and his wife Jessica as our videographers and we could not have been more pleased!  Not only was our video amazing, they gave us great advice leading up to the big day.  They were also such a calming presence for us and so helpful on our wedding day!.  If you need someone to video your big day I greatly recommend them.  Below is our short wedding video, we have thoroughly enjoyed having both this sneak peek and the full length video!

Chicken & Broccoli Alfredo Freezer Meal

One day soon I will post my homemade Alfredo sauce recipe but it is a little more time consuming than I prefer for a busy night. So when making our freezer meals, we found a much quicker version to use!

Ingredients
2 large chicken breasts cut into strips
2 jars of your favorite alfredo sauce (we use Bertolli)
1 bag frozen broccoli
Garlic powder

To make, combine strips of chicken and two jars of Alfredo sauce in a gallon Ziploc freezer bag and freeze. The night before put the bag in your refrigerator to thaw. Put the contents of the bag in your crockpot in the morning and add garlic powder to your preference. Cook on low 4-6 hours. About an hour before its done, add the bag of broccoli. Serve with your pasta of choice!

This recipe could not be easier and requires hardly any work and that's why I love it! You can make this meal without turning it into a freezer meal but I love that doing it this way makes dinner call for little to no effort on the night you make it. Plus cooking the ingredients together all day gives it a better taste!  Perfect for snowy days like today!

New Favorite Organizing Tools

Y'all know there's not much that makes me happier than finding a new way to organize or keep stuff looking neat at our house. Here are some of my new favorite organization finds!

Fridge Binz Egg Holder

Honestly at first I felt a little silly buying one of these. I mean, eggs come in a carton not loose. However, J & I really wanted one so we just impulse purchased one this weekend and let me tell you this thing is awesome! Not only does it look SO much better in the fridge, but it's so nice to be able to glance and see how many eggs you have. Much easier to know if eggs go on the grocery list. Love it! Find one at The Container Store here or we found ours at the local Kroger

Photo Storage Containers

I love this photo storage container from The Container Store and last week we found a similar one at Target!  LOVE it!!! It's not as big as the one from The Container Store but it's only 9.99!  I haven't been able to find it on Target's website but they are available in the store.  I purchased two to get started and can't wait to put them to use!  Finally a way to organize my pictures!
Bathroom Drawer Organizers

I found these at Target this weekend and am loving these for my bathroom drawers (more to come on this in another post!)  They come in various shapes & sizes and are super cheap!  We're talking like less than $5 each cheap!!  I cannot wait to reorganize my drawers with these this weekend!
Laundry Sorter

I have not purchased this yet, we're doing one room/area at a time and until our laundry renovations are complete I probably won't order this.  However, I cannot wait to have it!  I used to have a cheaper version of this one but I'm going to invest in a nicer one for our home!  The sorter pictured here is available at The Container Store at this link.  Also, Target has a version found here

Erin Condren 2015 Life Planner

So I've been meaning to write this blog post for a while now but I've been too busy using my 2015 life planner to sit down and blog about it :)  In case you haven't noticed I'm an organization freak.  Nothing stresses me out more than not having things in their place or having a plan for my day.  When someone tells me they don't use a planner it literally gives me anxiety.  Where do these people plan their days, track their meals, make to-do lists, grocery lists etc?

This is why I do not go anywhere without my Erin Condren life planner.  This baby is my constant companion.  I use it to track what I eat, when I workout, my to-do list, daily schedule, business planning etc.  It does it all!  If you have never heard of these do yourself a favor and just buy one.  You'll love it, trust me.  I've never known someone who has regretted buying one!

If you do decide to buy one, use this referral link to get $10 off!  Let's be honest, if you weren't going to buy one already that should be all the incentive you need!
Ahhh! It's here :)
This is the smile of one happy girl who was very excited to have her new life planner with her NEW last name :)  How perfect that the planner comes in a peacock pattern?  #itsfate

Below are pictures of some of the pages in the planner.  I buy the Erin Condren markers to use in my planner but I have several friends that just buy colored pens to use.  I have found 6 to be the perfect number of colors so it has just worked out for me to continue to use the EC ones.

Weekly view of the planner! I use the column on the left to organize my weekly to-do list and the lines underneath each day to meal, workout & blog plan!

So glad this year there is a transparent bookmark! So much easier to look at the week.

Monthly view!

Lots of note taking pages in the back!

Lots of great stickers! (These are just a few!)

Oh and as if the Erin Condren team wasn't already the best, this year they included a perpetual calendar where you can track all the dates that stay the same year to year and just put it in the pocket of your new planner next year.  Love it!

Now PLEASE do yourself a favor and check out the life planners.  You will be sucked in like a kid in a candy store!

Honey Garlic Chicken

A few weeks ago, Jared and I decided to try some freezer crock pot meals and they are now one of our favorite things! It's so nice to put something in the crockpot in the morning or at lunch and have dinner pretty much ready when I get home from work! I'm going to be sharing all our favorite ones we've found on the blog. If anyone has any other favorite crock pot meals please share, I need some more!

One of J's favorites that we've made so far is Honey Garlic Chicken. I found a couple similar recipes and ended up just making up my own based on the suggestions. Super easy & yummy!

Ingredients:

2 large chicken breasts
Bag of baby carrots
1/2 C Soy Sauce
1/2 C Ketchup
1/3 C Honey
3 Tsp Minced Garlic
Bag of frozen broccoli

Combine all ingredients (except the broccoli, you add that when cooking) in a ziploc bag and freeze. The night before you want to make this meal, put it in the fridge to defrost. (Side note: can use frozen chicken breasts because the meat will marinate when you thaw the meal before you cook it).

Cook on the crockpot on high 4-6 hours. When the meal is about an hour from being done, add the bag of broccoli.
This makes more than plenty for two people (we always have leftovers) but it could easily be doubled for a larger group!

We serve this meal with macaroni & cheese, homemade mashed potatoes and peas!

Love making homemade mashed potatoes! (Store bought just can't even compare in my opinion!)

This meal is seriously the easiest to make and warm & yummy for this time of the year!
