Life Lately

It's been about a month since I did our last Married Life Update (see that post here) so I decided to share an overview of what we've been up to the past month!

We took a weekend trip to Louisville! Read the recap here.

Spent a day in Bowling Green with Dad & Darlene!

Made a new taco soup recipe! Find it here.

We've really enjoyed our weekends!

Our patio furniture is finished. See the post here!

I've started walking several days a week and am seeing some progress!

We've baked sweet treats!

Love being able to sit outside & read on our back patio!

We made Chicken Spaghetti which is becoming a favorite in the Peacock Roost!  Find the recipe here.

I had my first Gene's tuna fish sandwich of the season!  Best sandwich in town :)

We had a fun dinner out with friends!

I went to the BBQ Festival with Dad & Darlene!

We celebrated Mother's Day

My baby brother graduated!

Had a yummy girls lunch with my Granny!
It's been a good month and we have lots of fun stuff planned for the next one as well!

Weekend Recap

Happy Monday!  We had such a wonderful weekend but I barely touched my phone much less took very many pictures so I will warn you there aren't many pictures to this post!  It was nice to take a break from my phone & just enjoy the weekend!

Friday started off with a yummy lunch at Briarpatch with my Granny! Love her!

Jared had to work Friday night so I went to MC to hang out with Dad & Darlene for a while and snuck in a short visit with Grandad Charles too!  I actually went to bed early on Friday, that NEVER happens since I'm such a night owl!

Saturday Jared and I ran some errands around town which included a stop at the library!  I was on the wait list for The Girl on the Train (can't wait to start reading it!) and checked out the recommended books table on my way in.

We spent the rest of the day in Evansville which was so nice!  We did a little shopping, went for a drive, had lunch at Firehouse Subs (our favorite Evansville lunch place!) and then we stopped in Henderson to see...

Pitch Perfect 2!  First of all, the movie was so good & hilarious!  Second of all, have you been to the Showplace Cinema movie theater in Henderson?!  So.Much.Better.  We have never been big Malco fans and after seeing the theater over there we are even less impressed.  Nice leather reclining seats, clean, refills on every size drink & popcorn (!!!!), need I say more?  We're officially sold and I'm sure we'll be making the short drive to Henderson to see movies a lot of the time!

We finished the night with dinner & catching up on the DVR!  Nashville, you make my heart hurt.  That is all.

Sunday we went for another drive, had a nice lunch out, ran a couple of house errands, had a visit with Dad & Darlene and finished the night with Wasabi takeout and some more shows!  We are currently binge watching Entourage so I can get caught up before the movie & so far I love it!

See?  Fun & busy weekend but you'll just have to take my word for it :)  It's kind of nice just having memories of such a nice weekend spent together!  We had originally set aside the weekend for landscaping but due to the weather that had to be put off til next weekend which gave us a lot of quality relaxed time together and we enjoyed it so much!

Hope everyone has a great week!  I'm looking forward to the Bachelorette premiere this week, more Entourage & time with my husband and to next weekend for some serious landscaping work & more fun adventures with Jared :)

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday!! Woohoo I'm so glad it's the weekend :)  We have a fun weekend together planned and I am ready!
But first, let's talk about some Friday Favorites today!
1. Fridays!

My first favorite thing today is that it's Friday!  We had a nice, relaxing week planned and ended up being busier than expected so we are really looking forward to a relaxed & quality time filled weekend together!

 2. Makeup/Beauty Products

I have recently shared some of my favorite beauty & makeup products on the blog!  See the posts here:

3. Spring Outfits

It's so nice to start wearing spring & summer clothes!  More color, not so bulky, and fun shoes too!

4. Exercise

I've been really trying to stay focused on exercising and eating cleaner and I love it!  I'm trying to walk several miles pretty much everyday and watch what I eat & portion sizes.  It's definitely encouraging feeling your clothes getting looser & the scale go down!  Not at a super fast rate but progress is progress :)

5. Dylan's Graduation

A definite favorite this week was getting to watch my brother graduate college!  We were so proud (Jared had to work so we were missing him!)

Hope everyone has a great weekend!  I'm so ready for ours to start & to spend some quality time with my husband :)

Favorite Beauty Products

I shared my favorite makeup products on the blog here and decided that I wanted to share some of my favorite beauty products too!

Clarisonic Mia

This thing is the best thing that has ever happened to my skin care routine.  I don't believe in spending a lot of money on something unless I know it works and this thing works wonders!  See my original post about mine here.
Lancome Moisturizer

Love this moisturizer!  Not greasy or heavy.  It goes on so easily & it has SPF 30!
Aveeno Lotion

I have sensitive skin so I love using Aveeno lotion!  It's very moisturizing but also super gentle on my skin.
Nivea Sunless Tanner

I love using Nivea's sunless tanner! I use the medium to dark and can tell a major difference when I use it every day.  It's easy to apply & doesn't have a strong smell which I love!  I buy mine at Ulta.  Target has the light to medium but Ulta is the only place I've been able to find the medium to dark and they always have a $3.50 off or 20% off coupon available which makes it the cheapest place I've found as well!  Link to the exact product here.

Aveda Air Control Hairspray

I'm currently using up some old bottles of random hairspray I have to clean out our bathroom cabinets, but as soon as those are gone I'm headed to purchase another bottle of this stuff!  It works fabulously & smells amazing!!!!  You can find it online here or I buy it at the Aveda salon I go to locally, Face Forward.  (If you need an awesome hairdresser, I highly recommend Shannon --she's amazing!)
Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Polish

I am the queen of chipping my nails or messing them up and this stuff is Kelsey proof which is saying something. You've heard me rave about it before on the blog and I'm doing it again now.  This stuff is just phenomenal!

Our Wedding: Ceremony

Today I am sharing part of our wedding ceremony!  We decided to keep certain parts of our wedding more private just for us so I won't be sharing many photos of those on the blog or social media.  I wanted to show some of our ceremony photos but it was really such an intimate time that we want to keep it that way :)

Our ceremony was perfect!  Everything turned out exactly the way we had hoped and we were so thankful!  We were surrounded by so much love and perfect fall weather.  We could not have asked for more from our wedding ceremony and I am so thankful for the precious memories we have from this day!

Loved the view!  Several deer went walking through the field and geese flew over during the wedding.  We were asked if we had arranged that but it was all nature's doing!  Just another perk of our wedding location, the natural beauty there was unreal :)

I had a few people comment to me that I never even looked to the side walking down the aisle and they were so right!  As soon as my Dad and I stepped into the aisle, I locked eyes with Jared and never looked away.  I was so mesmerized in the moment that I couldn't tell you who was where.  It was a magical moment in time walking with my dad towards my husband and I will never forget that feeling!

Thanks for taking care of me Haley!

So happy :)
