Friday Favorites

1. House of Cards

We finally started House of Cards on Netflix and I think it's safe to say we're already addicted :)  I love any political show so I'm one happy girl having this one to binge watch!

2. Fall!

Fall is almost here!  Summer has been great but this girl is ready for Fall clothes, decorations, recipes & football!

3. Candace Cameron Bure

Love her! I just finished this book of hers and loved it. I'm currently on the library list for her other two! I just adore her & her little family and she is such a good role model for young women on becoming good Christian wives & mothers!

4. Froyo

We had froyo last night while watching House of Cards & it was delish!  It's not a crazy amount of points for me so it's one of my favorite treats right now :)

5. Early Mornings

I took this photo when I was walking the other morning.  My early morning walks are a favorite because of the exercise but more so because there is just something about being out in nature as the world wakes up.  The light changes, birds start to sing, animals and people start moving about.  My quiet time in the morning really allows me to see the wonder of God's hand in the world!

Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award

Two sweet ladies nominated me for this & so I'm going to answer both of their questions below!  Thanks Katie & Molly!

1. Tell me something most people don’t know about you.
Most people would say I'm super serious and there are times I definitely am.  However, my super close family and friends get to see my silly and ridiculous side.  I love to joke around and be silly but I have to feel really comfortable around someone to be that way!
2. Who is one blogger you have to read everyday? (Let’s figure out who we’re missing out on!)
Oh that's a hard one!  Some of my favorites are:
3. What's the best concert you've ever been to?
Tough one.  Bruce Springsteen or Eric Church probably!
4. How many kids do you want?  And if you have kids...how many did you want before you had them?
Honestly, I'm not sure.  I don't know for sure that we're going to have any but if we do probably 1-2.  I truly believe if I'm supposed to be a mom God will call me to desire that when the time is right :)
5. What/who inspired you to start your blog?
I had a couple of friends who were blogging & followed a few others.  I really enjoyed reading about other people's lives and seeing new recipes, tips, etc.  I loved the community feel for blogging & decided to start my own!  It's a great outlet for my creative side after being analytical all day for my job :)
6. Is it hard to keep up with blogging and your regular every day life?
Sometimes very much so!  I love blogging but it's a lot more work than most people realize.  Sometimes I get behind or feel uninspired!  I'm currently working on scheduling out my days to be a lot more productive and I've noticed that it's helping a lot!  Writing posts ahead of time and having them ready to publish makes life a lot easier too.
7. What's your favorite holiday?
Christmas for sure!  I love the Christmas holiday and celebrating such a special time in my faith!   I love all holidays though from the decorations, time with family, yummy food, etc!
8. What is your number one tip for blogging?
Be you.  Your readers want to hear about who you are and see your originality!
9. If you could live off of one food for the rest of your life what would it be?
Pasta.  Definitely pasta.
10. What are you most proud of?
My relationship with God!  I am so thankful to have been raised by a very strong faith filled family and do not know what I would do without my faith.
11. If you had to give me one piece of advice what would it be?
Life is short.  Don't be afraid to say yes or no to things!  We all only have so much time on this Earth so spend as much of it as you can doing the things you love and spending time with those you love most!  I try to remember that just because an opportunity arises I don't always have to say yes.  Learning that I have the ability to say yes & no is quite empowering :)

I'm supposed to nominate other people to participate so I'm just going to nominate anyone who reads this & wants to get involved!  It's really fun reading these fun facts about different people :)

Weekend Recap

Happy Monday lovelies!  This weekend absolutely flew by for us!  It was a good one but it just went by really quickly.  I'm ready to get this week started though!

But first, let's recap the weekend!

Friday
Friday, I started the day with my usual morning walk!  My early morning walks & workouts are quickly becoming one of my favorite times of the day :)

Jared took me to Wasabi for a lunch date that was quite yummy :)
Friday night we went down to Friday After 5!  It was fun but we were both exhausted from the week so we were home and in bed pretty early!  Side note here: I used to be a total night owl but getting up between 5-5:30 every day is turning me into an early bedtime girl & I kind of love it :)

Saturday
I found my new favorite fall decoration!  I saw lots of Fall goodies at Hobby Lobby that I want to use to decorate our house but only splurged on the football pumpkin Saturday.  When it gets closer to really being Fall, I intend to stock up on some of those cute decorations :)
We had a great day of running errands and just relaxing!  We ended the night with takeout and watched two movies.  Get Hard & The Longest Ride were both really good!

Sunday
Jared had to work yesterday so I started the day with a walk!
It was the perfect day for some sunshine & a drive through the corn fields to MC :)

Dinner with these two lovelies!

Sooo...two things happened Sunday that sent me straight to my grandparents to hang out Sunday night instead of my original plans to try to get some blog/business work done.  One, our house was completely silent on Sunday morning and then while I was in the bathroom getting ready our bedroom tv turned on & started playing by itself.  Freaky!  After dinner, we found a small lizard in the house that thankfully Dad & Darlene were willing to remove for me.  This girl was over it!  I took those as signs I just didn't have to work on stuff last night so I spent the rest of the night hanging out with my grandparents :)

Hope everyone has a great week!

Friday Favorites

1. Putt Putt & Ice Cream

The other night we played putt putt & grabbed ice cream with Dylan (my brother) & Lauren (his girlfriend).  It was fun & great to hang out!

2. Losing Weight!
See my most recent fitness update here!  I'm loving working out more & continuing to do WW!  If anyone has any tips or meal ideas to share please feel free to do so in the comments below :)

3. Water Slide Fun

My dad made a homemade water slide for Cooper & Cole (cousins) the other day and while Jared was mowing I decided to join in on the fun :)  This was one of my & Dyl's favorite things to do growing up and I definitely felt like a kid again!  Country living is the best :)

4. Cleaning out my closet!
I don't have any pictures of this to share just yet but I'm having lots of fun cleaning out my closets!  One of the perks/drawbacks to weight loss is that you have to get rid of a lot of clothes (drawback) but you get to sell the old ones, save up & get new ones (perk)!  I'm getting rid of a ton of clothing & accessories that I just never wear.  No more "maybe one day I'll wear this when...."  If I don't love it, it goes.  I only end up wearing the stuff I love in my closet anyway so why crowd my favorite clothes in with stuff I'm never going to wear?

5. Going to Bed Early!
I never in a million years thought I would say that!  I'm such a night owl.  These 5am alarms for my workouts are awesome & I love doing it!  My body is having to adjust to going to bed earlier though and that's been interesting.  I don't even really feel tired and then all of a sudden at night I just crash!  I'm loving my sleep right now and am going to try to keep going to bed even earlier so hopefully I can wake up earlier to get more done in the mornings!  Even though it makes me tired my body feels so much better on this schedule than before :)

Hope you all have a great weekend!  Hoping ours will be pretty low key so we can play catch up around the house and just hang out :)
